More troops were deployed in Deraa on Saturday, a day after government security forces killed dozens of people, AP reported quoting a resident of the southern Syrian city.

The resident said he saw four tanks and 20 armored troop carriers entering Deraa.

Human rights groups say some 500 people have been killed since the uprising in Syria began.
