Syrian forces kill six civilians in Banias, activists say

AMMAN - Syrian forces killed at least six civilians in a tank-backed army attack on Banias on Saturday, including four women killed in a demonstration just outside the besieged coastal city, human rights campaigners said.

The Syrian Observatory for Human Rights confirmed the death toll. The Observatory said the six where killed during the attack on the city and demanded the Syrian authorities allow an independent committee to investigate the deaths.
