Taliban reject Obama war strategy review

KABUL, Afghanistan — The Taliban on Friday rejected the review of US President Barack Obama's year-old war strategy in Afghanistan, saying that it has failed on both the military and the civil administration fronts.
Taliban spokesman Zabiullah Mujahid said in an emailed statement that the past nine years of war have proven that increased troop levels had no effect.
Mujahid said that failed public services, corruption, insecurity and increased civilian casualties were the result of "the failed American strategy."
The Obama review unveiled Thursday said Taliban momentum has been halted in many parts of Afghanistan.
