Several hundred African migrants marched through Tel Aviv Sunday evening, protesting against deportations.
The demonstrators were chanting "Sudanese are not cancer."
The deportation of Israel’s population of South Sudanese citizens appeared to have begun on Sunday, with immigration officials announcing the arrests of eight South Sudanese earlier in the morning.
The arrests came in spite of PIBA’s statement last week that they would follow a court recommendation to give the migrants a week to turn themselves in to immigration authorities, so as to avoid the arrests of families.
