ANKARA, Turkey — The state-run Anatolia news agency said Thursday that a Turkish government agency has approved the sale of the TV channel it administers to Al-Jazeera.

The Qatar-based news network last week offered $40.5 million to acquire Cine5 TV channel in an auction. Al-Jazeera plans to launch a news channel in Turkey.
