Two men in their 40s were shot dead at the entrance to an events hall
in north Tel Aviv on Thursday night in what police say is likely a criminal incident.

The shooting took place near the Sportec facility which is often filled with people playing a variety of sports.

Police said a gunman was seen arriving at the venue, opening fire at two men, and fleeing the scene. Police were called to the area and arrested one man on suspicion of being the gunman.

Magen David Adom paramedics attempted to revive the casualties but were not successful, and pronounced them dead shortly afterwards.

The identities of the victims have not yet been released.
