US bank connected to Mabhouh killing blames partner company

DUBAI, United Arab Emirates — The US bank linked by Dubai police to the slaying of a top Hamas commander says prepaid credit cards allegedly used by the hit team were provided through partner company Payoneer.
The Iowa-based MetaBank said on Wednesday that its procedures did not flag the card users as suspicious and that an internal review of compliance with bank and regulatory requirements has found no signs of wrongdoing.
Hamas operative Mahmoud al-Mabhouh was found dead in a Dubai hotel room Jan. 20. Dubai blamed the Mossad and claimed a percentage of the hit team used credit cards obtained with fake passports, most which were issued by MetaBank through its New York-based partner, Payoneer.
