US has accessed data on encrypted Apple iPhone

The US Justice Department has said it has successfully accessed data stored on iPhone which belonged to San Bernardino shooter.

The request for Apple's assistance to access iPhone belonging to San Bernardino shooter-law enforcement official familiar with situation will be withdrawn following this new development.

They requested that the court vacate the order compelling Apple to help access data on San Bernardino Shooter's iPhone.

A senior law enforcement official has said it is "premature" as to whether the technology used to access iPhone in San Bernardino case will work with other phones
