The National Infrastructure Ministry, in conjunction with the universities, is initiating courses to train future students to work in the energy sector, the ministry said Monday. Noting a lack of qualified people and the sudden surge in the energy sector over the last several years, the ministry has decided to encourage educational opportunities. A committee will assess the needs and costs.

Courses will be given in the following fields: Geology and geophysics, engineering – electrical, drilling, distribution, and alternative energy. Courses will also be given in nuclear energy and energy efficiency as well as finance and business with a focus on the energy sector.
