Uzi Dayan on 2 Givati soldiers: They are not criminals

Testimonies were given Monday morning at the IDF Military Court in the trial of two soldiers from the Givati brigade, who were convicted of exceeding their authority during Operation Cast Lead in the Gaza Strip.
Dozens of supporters gathered outside the court, including Maj.-Gen. (ret.) Uzi Dayan and incoming Givati brigade commander Col. Moni Katz. Dayan, who is expected to testify in favor of the two soldiers, said, "We are here to support our combatants. They are not criminals, but warriors."
The two soldiers were convicted of ordering a 9-year-old Palestinian boy to open bags which were suspected of being booby-traps during the 2009 war.
They were convicted three weeks ago.
