Veteran spokesman Jankelowitz leaves JAFI

The Jewish Agency for Israel’s veteran spokesman Michael Jankelowitz is leaving the organization after 33 years of service. Jankelowitz joined JAFI in April 1978 when he became director of student affairs at the American Zionist Youth Foundation in New York.
Since then the South African-born Jankelowitz rose steadily through the ranks, eventually becoming the group’s spokesman in charge of handling foreign press.
Jankelowitz said that although he may be leaving the Jewish Agency he will not be leaving the Jewish people.
“I’ve received many offers to join consultancy companies related to the Jewish world on initiatives related to my experience,” he said.
