White House looking to increase pressure on Syria

WASHINGTON - The White House said on Wednesday it exploring ways to increase pressure on the Syrian government to end violence against civilians and placed the blame squarely on Syrian President Bashar Assad.

"Syria would be a better place without President Assad," White House spokesman Jay Carney told a news conference.
