Women's rights groups: Appoint woman to Turkel c'tee

Several women's organizations were due on Tuesday to file a petition in the High Court of Justice demanding that a woman be appointed to the Turkel Commission established by the government to investigate the flotilla affair.
On Sunday, the cabinet appointed two more men, jurist Miguel Deutch and diplomatic expert Reuven Merhav, to join the three men already serving on the commission.
Attorney Anat-Thon-Ashkenazi, a member of the Itach organization of female lawyers, said "Prime Minister Binyamin Netanyahu is consciously acting against the Law of Equal Rights for Women and demonstratively ignoring his obligation according to the rules of law and justice by not including a woman in the commission."
