Moshe Ya'alon on Sunday said his goodbyes before leaving the post of defense minister, which is now due to be taken over by Yisrael Beytenu chairman Avigdor Liberman.

Before leaving the position, Ya'alon met with IDF Chief of Staff Lt.-Gen. Gadi Eisencot at the Defense Ministry's Kiriya complex in Tel Aviv.

"It was a pleasure to work in the company of wonderful people, the aides, the officers and the soldiers. Thank you to everyone," Ya'alon said at his bureau before vacating the post.
