Yair Lapid fearing press cancels student talk at BGU

Journalist Yair Lapid on Sunday canceled a speech to students at Ben-Gurion University of the Negev in Beersheba that had been scheduled for Monday night, due to concerns that the event would be covered by the press.
Israel Radio broadcasted a tape of Lapid's speech in Herzliya last week in which he seemed to indicate he was on his way into politics.
Former interior minister Avraham Poraz, who led Shinui with Lapid's father, Yosef (Tommy) Lapid, said on Sunday that he hoped Yair would follow his father footsteps from journalism into politics.
