Yesha Council: PM's reaction to Likud vote a moment of truth

The Council of Jewish Communities in Judea, Samaria and the Gaza Strip (Yesha) has been waiting intently to see the Netanyahu government's reaction to the Likud Central Committee's expected vote Thursday night in support of the continued expansion of settlements in Judea and Samaria.

In anticipation of the vote, Naftali Bennett, Director General of the Yesha Council, called it "a moment of truth for the Prime Minister and the Government of Israel."

"If Prime Minister Netanyahu fails to comply with [the expected] decision by his party’s’ governing body, it will ultimately determine whether Israel has become a banana republic of the United States or is an independent state prepared to stand up for its own interests and the security needs of its citizens," Bennett stated.
