Interior Minister Eli Yishai on Thursday defended his position against allowing a group of 20 African migrants stuck at the Israel-Egypt border to allow the country.
"A sovereign country, responsible for its borders, can decide for itself who can enter and leave its territory," Yishai told Army Radio. "There are 300 million people in Africa. If we let these 20 migrants in, we have to be prepared to open our doors to everyone."
