Monday, March 3 A SERIES of lectures on criminal proceedings and hearings by lawyers whose specialty is criminal law will take place at Tel Aviv University. The lectures, in Hebrew, will begin at 4.30 p.m. in room 209 of the law faculty. THE JABOTINSKY Institute, together with Keter Publishing and Steimatzky, will celebrate the publication of the third translation of Ze'ev Jabotinsky's Shimshon (Samson) at the Jabotinsky Museum, 38 King George Street, Tel Aviv, starting at 6 p.m. Speakers will include Peter Kriksonov, who translated the book from Russian; Dr. Anna Isakova, author and journalist; Prof. Yair Zakovitz, Bible scholar; Eri Steimatzky, former head of the book selling and publishing company that continues to bear his name; Dan Kaner, a well-known broadcaster who will read excerpts from the book; and Yossi Ahimeir, the director of the Jabotinsky Institute, who will act as moderator. Tuesday, March 4 IT'S COMMON knowledge in financial circles that one's capital is worth a lot more in the Isle of Man than in Israel. You can find out how and why by attending a seminar on "Finances on the Isle of Man," co-sponsored by the British Embassy and the Israel-British Chamber of Commerce. About a dozen financial experts from the Isle of Man will disclose what they have to offer. The seminar begins at 9 a.m. at the Tel Aviv Hilton and includes opportunities for one-on-one discussions. ALBANIAN AMBASSADOR to Israel Dr. Tonin Gjuraj, who is a champion of Kosovo's struggle for independence, will speak about "Kosovo: The Albanian Perspective," at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem. The lecture, to be delivered in English, is being held under the auspices of the Abba Eban Center for Israeli Diplomacy at the Harry. S. Truman Research Institute for the Advancement of Peace. The event will begin at 11.30 a.m. in the Abba Eban Conference Room, on the ground floor of the Truman Institute, on the HU's Mount Scopus campus. Wednesday, March 5 JOURNALIST AND filmmaker Jerrold Kessel, together with Pierre Klochhendler, has made a documentary film about the unexpected victory of the Bnei Sakhnin football team in 2004. The film is a metaphor for the Arab minority and its struggle for equality. The film will be screened at 10 a.m. in the Bronfman reception hall in the Sherman administration building on HU's Mount Scopus campus. The screening will be followed by a discussion with the producers about minority-majority relations. Tuesday, March 11 THE MENACHEM Begin Heritage Center will mark the 16th anniversary of the passing of the former prime minister with a memorial lecture series. Speakers will include Harry Hurwitz, Yechiel Kadishai, Prof. Moshe Arens, MK Effi Eitam, Yair Stern, Eliezer Cohen and Udi Lebel. The lectures will begin at 5.30 p.m. and will be followed by community singing led by Shalva Berti.
