Ben-Gurion passenger traffic soars

Some 775,000 international travelers passed through Ben-Gurion Airport in March of this year, representing a 15% increase over March 2006, the Israel Airports Authority said on Sunday.

Some 775,000 international travelers passed through Ben-Gurion Airport in March of this year, representing a 15% increase over March 2006, the Israel Airports Authority said on Sunday. Approximately 380,000 passengers landed at the airport, while 395,242 flew out of the country. Some 5,721 international flights landed at or departed from the airport over the month, a rise of almost 12.5% from last March and more than 25% above February 2007. Domestic flights during the month increased by 18.5% over last March, carrying 38,919 passengers to destinations around the country. Israeli airlines accounted for 45.5% of the flights.
