The Ministry of Industry, Trade and Labor said Tuesday it has extended its industrial cooperation program with General Motors Corp. whereby the car maker has committed to buy from Israeli suppliers for another seven years.
General Motors has spent $334 million since the two signed their first agreement in May 2001. In 2005 alone, the company bought $102m. from Israeli suppliers, far exceeding its obligations of $586,272 for the year.
