Israel Electric Company logistics and assets manager Zvi Manor was asked to step down from his position immediately over the weekend after allowing the transfer of a 220-ton transformer from the Morasha junction to the Rothenberg power plant on Shabbat. Company CEO Ori Ben-Nun said Sunday that management had been notified of the consequences attached to the company's operations on Shabbat as set in place by the Government for the last six years. In addition to firing Manor, who was responsible for transportation of freight at IEC, Ben-Nun suspended David Nitzan from his position as supplies and storage manager, until a hearing clarifies his involvement.
