The deputy minister of India's Trade Ministry, Dr. Ashwani Kumar, will be arriving this week as a guest of Industry, Trade and Labor Minister Eli Yishai. Kumar will head up a delegation of Indian businessmen and manufacturing leaders who are coming to Israel to discuss future joint research and development projects between Israel and India as well with the hopes of increasing trade. According to the director of the foreign department in the Industry, Trade and Labor, the two countries did $1.6 billion worth of trade over the first course of the year, with Israel exporting $753 million worth of goods and importing $833m.
