Israeli Xmas gift basket sales abroad up

Citrus fruit producer and maker of gift baskets Ben Ezer Plantations said it is preparing to send 50,000 gift packages abroad over the Christmas period this year, showing a 30 percent rise over 2005.

Citrus fruit producer and maker of gift baskets Ben Ezer Plantations said it is preparing to send 50,000 gift packages abroad over the Christmas period this year, showing a 30 percent rise over 2005. With 60% of the gifts heading for the US, 25% to Europe and the rest of the world making up the remaining 15%, Ben Ezer said it expects the overall market, of gifts sent out of Israel to grow to NIS 20 million this year. Half the packages sent are from businesses, public or government bodies sending gifts to work partners abroad while the rest were orders from private consumers.
