Knesset approves bank fee limits

The Knesset on Wednesday approved two law proposals that would limit banks in their capability to raise fees.

The Knesset on Wednesday approved two law proposals that would limit banks in their capability to raise fees. The bill proposed by MK Gilad Ardan authorizes the Supervisor of Banks to interfere in the level of bank fees, including banning certain fees while, according to the law proposal presented by MK Amnon Cohen, the increase of bank fees would be made dependent on changes the consumer price index.
