The project for Chinese-Israeli cooperation is seeking Israeli technological start-ups to encourage international cooperation and strategic partnerships of local companies in the field of research and development in China.
This week a call for proposals was published for companies in the areas of communications, information technology, medical equipment, green technology, water and energy to join the project, which thus far includes Hong Kong, Shanghai, Chengdu, Xian and Shenzhen.
The project is a joint initiative headed by Matimop and the Chief Scientist's Office in collaboration with Shirat Enterprises Ltd., which is managed by Eliezer Manor, who has been active in China in related fields over the past three years, and the Israel Venture Association.
The objective of the project is to assist young Israeli companies in establishing joint ventures with large Chinese industrial companies for the commercialization of new products. Combining the novel technologies developed by Israeli companies, while taking advantage of the relatively low manufacturing cost in China, is expected to allow Israeli companies to penetrate Chinese, Far Eastern and worldwide markets.
Shirat Enterprises and Matimop will select Israeli companies and provide them with information on potential Chinese partners. Information on the Israeli companies will be translated into Chinese to be presented at exhibitions and visits of potential Chinese business partners will be organized.
