More ex-soldiers working in security

The first half of 2006 saw a 200% increase in the number of retired soldiers who joined the security industry, the Israel Manufacturers Association said. Figures also were provided showing a 22% rise in the number of soldiers who joined the hi-tech industry upon leaving the army, with 39 of them finding work in the sector in the first six months of the year. There was a 33% decrease in the number of former soldiers who began work in the metals and electronics industry, dropping to 12 from 18 in the first half of 2005.
