The Tourism Ministry, Keren Kayemet LeIsrael (KKL) and the Negev and Galilee Development Ministry introduced their "Negev 2015" initiative on Sunday, a governmental project that will pump some NIS 13 million into tourist projects in Negev. The joint project includes the renovation of the infrastructure in Tzukim Village, situated 100 kilometers from the southern city of Eilat, the construction of a promenade around Park Yeruham's lake, the development of the park's roads and parking services and paving the roads in Lahav Forest in the Southern Judean Coastal Plains, as well as the installation of a bicycle path and observation points in the park. Additionally, the project will offer financial grants for local tour operators who develop the Shalom-Habsor region.
