'Has anyone in Israel stopped to think why aliyah from Western countries is down?'

TODAY'S HOT POTATO: Taken from article: Olmert: Era of mass Aliya is at an end Talkback #: 34 Talkbacker: Ellen Kew, Gardens Hills USA Text: Has anyone in Israel stopped to think why many people from Western countries don't want to make aliyah. A government with one criminal scandal after another, a country where important areas needed for security yesterday are given away today, a country where displaced citizens are treated like garbage, a country where the Supreme Court makes laws and openingly degrades one segment of society. A tax system where monies earned overseas,way before any aliyah,deposited in non-Israeli banks and saved for retirement will be taxed after 10 years in Israel. I always thought i'd make aliyah, now???? What do you think? The ball is in your court now. Click here to respond
