"By being here, you've demonstrated your friendship," Mayor Nir Barkat said to the participants at the rally. Canadian MP Mr. David Sweet conveyed a message on behalf of the Canadian Prime Minister Stephen Harper: 'We stand shoulder-to-shoulder with you.'

"When I heard that the FAA had suspended flights to Israel, I said to my wife, 'that's totally unreasonable. Let's go to Israel and take as many friends of ours as we can with us.' I called Josh Cooper, the CEO of JNF Canada and suggested that we work together on organizing a solidarity event in Jerusalem. JNF Canada came on board immediately, and the fact that so many people are here tonight is thanks to our joint effort," said Mr. Jerry Grafstein, chairman of the board of Israel Cloud News and a former Canadian senator.
Hundreds of Canadians who had either come especially to Israel at this time or who are Israeli residents packed the hotel ballroom and enthusiastically expressed their love of Israel and their pride in the Canadian government for supporting Israel in such an unequivocal manner.
At the end of the rally, KKL-JNF World Chairman Efi Stenzler noted: "We have friends all over the world, but no one like the Canadians."
