KKL-JNF Leaders at ELC meet with the EU Parliament

As part of KKL-JNF’s European Leadership Conference (ELC), a meeting with the European Parliament members was held on April 1st.

 Taking part in this meeting were KKL-JNF World Chairman Efi Stenzler; Co-chairman Eli Aflalo and the heads of the European Parliament, including the deputy chairman of the European Parliament’s foreign affairs committee and KKL-JNF representatives in Europe.

At this meeting, ideas for cooperation in KKL-JNF fields of environmental activity between KKL-JNF and the European Union were discussed.  These fields included afforestation, environmental protection and forest pest control.
The European Parliament members expressed great enthusiasm for the wide variety of KKL-JNF’s activities and professional capabilities, and noted that the Jews suffered in Europe and that they expect the EU to protect the Jewish communities living on the continent.

During the conference, it was decided that KKL-JNF professionals would cooperate with European Union representatives on projects that have been allocated 20 billion Euros in the coming decade, with the participation of European representatives and institutions that will be partners in green projects across Europe.
