KKL-JNF Shows Water Technology at WATEC 2013
The WATEC 2013 Water Technology and Environmental Control Exhibition and Conference was the fourth occasion on which KKL-JNF has used this venue to exhibit its varied activities relating to the environment and the development of water resources. This event, held at the Israel Trade Fairs and Convention Center in Tel Aviv, provides a forum in which Israeli organizations can present their latest technological innovations with regard to water, energy and environmental conservation. The conference brings together experts, working professionals, official delegates and people from other spheres who are involved in water-related issues from around the world. It gives them a chance to exchange information, get up to date on the latest technological advances and do a little networking. A conference is held in conjunction with the exhibition, providing an opportunity for visitors to take part in lectures, panel discussions and professional debates.
Constructing reservoirs, rehabilitating polluted waterways, combating desertification, purifying and reclaiming water by means of constructed wetlands and other biofiltration techniques – these are just a few of the major projects that KKL-JNF is promoting all over Israel, with the help of its Friends throughout the world. A special touch screen enabled visitors to the KKL-JNF pavilion at the WATEC exhibition to learn about the organization’s various activities at the touch of a finger, while another screen allowed them watch videos about its extensive work for the benefit of humankind and the environment.
The KKL-JNF pavilion aroused the interest of many visitors to the exhibition from all over the world, who came along to learn about the organization’s far ranging activities. India, China, Kenya, Ghana, Brazil, Peru, South Africa, Switzerland, Greece, Canada and the USA – this is only a partial list of the countries whose representatives visited the pavilion and expressed an interest in the various projects. Apart from fascinating explanations, the visitors also received a gift from KKL-JNF, in the form of an attractive green pot plant.
Elisha Mizrahi of KKL-JNF’s Resources, Development and Public Relations Division stressed the importance that the organization attaches to international cooperation. “KKL-JNF’s expert knowledge is available to numerous countries all over the world, and we are glad to build these bridges of cooperation,” he said.
