A delegation of nine participants from Canada arrived in Israel for a six-day trip, for a tour aroud the country. The mission is headed by Fred Waks, honoree at the 2012 Negev Dinner in Toronto.

The mission has visited various sites throughout Israel so far, including new projects that were carried out thanks to contributions from friends of KKL-JNF in Canada.

On the first day of their trip, the mission participants visited Acco to learn about a unique project in that city – a botanical garden. Participating in the visit were Mr. Shimon Lankari, the mayor of Acco, Mr. Mickey Strauss, a prominent businessman, Mr. Ze'ev Kedem, director of KKL-JNF's Fundraising Division, Dr. Omri Boneh, KKL-JNF Northern Region director, and other officials from KKL-JNF and the Acco municipality.

The mission made a special visit to an Israeli Air Force base in order to check out options for green developments at one of the flying squadrons.

The group also experienced a very moving tree planting ceremony in the Aminadav Forest in the Judean Mountains with the participation of Mr. Avi Dickstein, Executive Director of KKL-JNF Resources, Development and PR Division. The mission will end its visit in Israel with a tour of northern Israel, including a trip to Hula Lake Park.
