Shoah survivors group chair welcomes ban on Nazi symbol use

Moshe Sanbar, chairman of the Center of Organizations of Holocaust Survivors in Israel, welcomed Tuesday the the Knesset's decision to approve a bill banning the use Holocaust imagery or Nazi epithets in public.

Following the approval of a bill by the Ministerial Committee for Legislation on Monday, people who are fond to use Nazi imagery in public may soon face a NIS 100,000 fine and up to six months in jail.

"Given the extreme use of Holocaust symbols and the harming of the memory of the Holocaust, this bill deserves praise," Sanbar said.
