Magen David Adom reported a serious shortage of blood donations on Monday afternoon.
According to reports, 1,000 blood donations are given every day. Only 400 portions of type O blood remain in the blood bank, and 800 are urgently needed.
MDA said the situation means that blood would be supplied only for urgent operations, and reserves would be kept for emergencies.
