1 killed, 5 wounded in southwest Pakistan bomb blast

A remote-controlled bomb planted on a motorcycle killed a passerby and wounded five others Sunday in a market in Pakistan's southwest, police said. An ethnic Baluch nationalist group claimed responsibility. The blast occurred in the town of Sui in Baluchistan province, police officer Abdul Majid Dasti said, adding that two of the wounded were in serious condition. In a phone call to reporters, Baluchistan Republican Army spokesman Sarbaz Baluch said the group was behind the attack, claiming the explosion killed an opponent of the movement, but police would not confirm that.
