A landslide killed up to 13 people Tuesday in a western Indonesian village, burying several homes and a small mosque, police said.
The landslide Monday in Sungai Sariak, a village on Sumatra island, followed days of heavy rain, said district police Lt.Col. Yadi Prariyadi.
"We believe 13 died after they were buried beneath the mud," he said. "Rescuers have not been able to reach them."
