7 wounded in blast in lawmaker's home in northern Philippines

At least seven people were wounded, some severly, when an explosion rocked a lawmaker's house in the northern Philippines in what may have been an accident or an attack by a political rival, police said Wednesday. Three sons of House Rep. Cecille Luna were among those wounded in the blast in Luna's home in Abra province's capital, Bangued, late Tuesday as the family gathered for the Christmas Day holiday, said police Senior Superintendent Alexander Pumecha. One of the sons and two other victims who suffered second- and third-degree burns were hospitalized in Manila, Pumecha said. All the injured were in stable condition.
