9 arrested in Mauritania in deaths of French tourists

Nine people have been arrested on suspicion of complicity with the men who killed four French tourists last month, Mauritanian officials said Monday. The nine appeared before Judge Mohamed Mahmoud Ould Tiyib on Sunday at the district court in Aleg, the town near where the tourists were killed after they stopped on Christmas Eve for a roadside picnic.
