Abkhazia says Georgian troops pushed from province

A defense official in Abkhazia says Georgian troops have been forced out of their last stronghold in the separatist province. Deputy Defense Minister Maj. Gen. Anatoly Zaitsev says one Abkhaz reserve officer was killed and two people were injured in the operation to push Georgian forces out of the northern Kodori Gorge. He says Abkhaz forces took down a Georgian flag flying over administrative headquarters in the town of Chkhalta. The claim that Georgian forces were gone could not immediately be confirmed.
