NATO-led troops launched an airstrike on a Taliban command post in southern Afghanistan, completely destroying the compound and killing suspected militants, the alliance said Friday.
"A senior Taliban leader and his deputies are believed to have been killed in the strike," which took place Thursday in Musa Qala district of Helmand province, a NATO statement said.
NATO did not disclose the name of the suspected Taliban leader or the number of deputies believed killed in the strike.
