A British soldier was killed during a military operation in southern Afghanistan, the Ministry of Defense said Monday.
The ministry's statement provided no other details about Monday's attack or the identity of Royal Marine.
The killing brought to 68 the number of British service members who have died since their country began fighting in Afghanistan in November 2001.
