Members of the Quartet decided during their meeting in Cairo that they would only recognize a Palestinian government that would meet the Quartet's three demands that the PA recognize Israel, stop terrorism, and honor existing agreements with Israel.
The London-based Al-Hayat was informed of the Quartet decision by an Egyptian source, Israel Radio reported.
