At least 8 killed in US missile strike in northwest Pakistan

A suspected US missile strike Friday killed at least eight people in northwest Pakistan, security officials said. The attack occurred on in Pakistan's North Waziristan region, a stronghold of Taliban and al-Qaida terrorists blamed for attacks on US troops in Afghanistan. One Pakistani security official said 10 people died. Another put the toll at eight. The identity of the victims was not clear and it was not immediately possible to reconcile the differing tallies.
