Bangladesh pledges 2,000 troops for Lebanon force

Bangladesh on Thursday pledged to send up to 2,000 troops to participate in the 15,000-strong international force in Lebanon. Speaking at the United Nations, Deputy Secretary-General Mark Malloch Brown said at least 3,500 troops are needed to deploy within 10 days to expand the 2,000-strong UN force.
