British Prime Minister Tony Blair on Monday described as "completely unacceptable" the violent protests that have taken place against the publication of caricatures of the Prophet Muhammad. Blair also said that he spoke with Prime Minister Anders Fogh Rasmussen of Denmark, where the cartoons were first published, to offer him Britain's full support and solidarity. "The attacks on the citizens of Denmark and on people of the European community are completely unacceptable, as is the behavior of some of the demonstrators in London over the past few days," Blair said in a statement read by his spokesman. "The police shall have our full support in respect of any action they wish to take to uphold the law, though we fully understand the difficult situation they are faced with."
