An explosion rocked a packed commuter train in a Bombay suburb during Tuesday's evening rush hour, and police said there were casualties.
A senior police official said the blast hit the train at a railway station in the northwestern suburb of Khar, and that authorities were still trying to determine how many people had been injured and if anyone had died.
The officer spoke on the condition of anonymity because he was not authorized to talk to the media.
