The British government signed an agreement Wednesday to modernize Saudi Arabia's armed forces, including supplying the Eurofighter Typhoon combat jet. Under the terms of the agreement the Eurofighter, built by Britain's BAE Systems PLC, European Aeronautic Defence and Space Co. and Italy's Finmeccanica, will replace Tornado planes and others currently in service with the Saudi Air Force. BAE Systems welcomed the agreement, which will see greater cooperation between the two governments and joint training and exercises between their military.
