Anti-terrorism police say they have detained a 19-year-old man in northern England. Police say the man was detained in connection with five other arrests earlier this year but declined to give further detail. British media have said the five were arrested in connection with threats allegedly made against Prime Minister Gordon Brown. Those five have been charged with various terror-related offenses. The man arrested Tuesday can be held up to 28 days without charge under Britain's Terrorism Act. Officers from the Lancashire police and the Greater Manchester Police's counterterrorism unit are searching the man's apartment in the city of Blackburn.
