US President George W. Bush told reporters Monday that his country would not be part of any future international peacekeeping force in Lebanon. Bush said that most countries would not support US military involvement in Lebanon, adding that the US was already involved diplomatically. Bush said a cease-fire at this point would be "okay," but would not address the real problem in the conflict.
