Canadian union adopts economic boycott of Israel

The Israeli ambassador to Canada criticized the country's biggest workers' union for adopting an anti-Israel economic boycott Friday. "The organization has a good name and a desire to help," said the ambassador. "Why does it need to take such a combative stance regarding what's done in the Middle East?" Jewish community called the union's move anti-Semitic. "Its initiatives don't recognize Israel's right to defend itself in the face of terror," said a source.
